About Manuel Espejo

My life has been characterized by a harmonious blend of work and education. I've embarked on an enduring quest for knowledge, spanning a wide array of fields, including Law, Business Administration, Economics, Translation, Philosophy of Science, Political Science, and English. My dedication to language proficiency has remained steadfast, with a particular emphasis on refining my skills in English, French, and some German and Italian. Spanish and Catalan are my native languages.

My professional journey commenced at the age of 18 in 1983. I ventured into the banking industry in 1990. Over the course of my career, I've embraced a wide range of roles and responsibilities, primarily within the domains of corporate and merchant banking. This has encompassed a broad spectrum of operations, including complex financial instruments. In the latter stages of my banking career, my focus shifted towards risk analysis and the preparation of delinquency reports. Additionally, I made contributions to regulatory and anti-money laundering departments.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the institution that shaped my career, Deutsche Bank, who provided me with invaluable opportunities and immense satisfaction. I decided to retire from my banking career prematurely, effective July 31, 2023, in pursuit of an ambitious intellectual project that currently consumes my attention.

In addition to my intellectual initiatives, I'm eager about engaging in freelance translation services for books and documents related to Social Sciences or legal and economic texts. My extensive experience in document management and profound business acumen position me as an asset in this endeavour.

Apart from my professional ambitions, I am an ardent reader, predominantly immersing myself in essays, though I also indulge in high-quality literature. Within my personal library, you'll discover an intricately curated assortment exceeding 4,000 volumes, with a prevalent focus on subjects I've studied, alongside additional works encompassing History and other Social Sciences.
